Carr Fire Immediate Response

Oct 19, 2018
BGR Initiative

Bethel Global Response opened the doors of the local church immediately after the Carr Fire and orchestrated a distribution center in which over 20,000 volunteer hours facilitated 6,300 guests receiving essential items and hot meals. Ashout teams were trained and sifted through the debris of 126 burnt homes, finding precious items critical to homeowners internal recovery process and healing. Every homeowner that lost their home in the fire received a gift from Bethel of $1,000 to help purchase immediate necessities like clothing, toiletries, hotels or security deposits for rent. BGR continues to serve our community as the recovery and rebuilding are a long-term effort.
