An Invitation to Lead
We are looking for those of you who love to create connection and enjoy having people in your home to say "yes" with us to leading one of these small groups and opening your heart and home for a small group. New Small Groups typically launch in September and January around a key discipleship curriculum that we are pursuing as a church, and facilitate the opportunity for people who call Bethel their home to go deeper together in kingdom culture and community. These small groups of 8-15 meet in homes for encouragement, discipleship, activation, and ministry.
What Does Leading a Group Look Like?
- Create a space for connection, conversation, and encouragement—allowing the Holy Spirit to lead and move freely.
- Open your home for a small group to meet (with comfortable seating for at least 8 people).
- Create a welcoming space in your home and hosting a small group of local Bethel attenders each week.
- Facilitate connection and conversation to allow the people in your group to get to know each other.
- Utilize a TV that you can stream (by internet) video teachings.
- Create a welcoming space in your home and hosting a small group of local Bethel attenders each week.
- Lead the group in discussion questions (provided in the leader's guide) to personally engage with the teaching.
- Facilitate a time of activation and ministry where the small group can encourage and pray and prophesy for each other.
Don't Worry!
- You don't have to have the gift of teaching (but we love it when you do!) and come up with a teaching every week. We will supplement your group's times with different video teachings that you can use.
- You don't have to be a pastor (but we love it when you are!). You just need to love God and care about people.
- We will provide you with a leader's guide that will walk you through some recommended questions and activations. You are welcome to use ours or tailor your own to fit you and your group. We encourage you to always be sensitive to the Spirit and if he leads you in a different direction—follow Him!
Becoming a Small Group Leader
We are so glad you asked! The first step is to let us know of your interest by filling out the leader interest form. After you fill out the interest form, you will receive an email from our Community Life team about the next steps and attending the next leader's training.
Small Group Leader Training
For those who are new to Bethel or have not led a small group at Bethel, we ask that you attend one of our small group leader training events. We offer the training as a four-session class on Sunday morning.
