November 11, 2022 Update
Bethel New York is a church plant of Bethel Redding. We exist to host God’s glory, to provide a sanctuary for Him to meet humanity, and to build a community to see transformation in ourselves and in others.
We believe in a living God who actively pursues His children. We believe in miracles, signs, and wonders, and that He desires to walk with all people in an intimate and supernatural way.
We desire that all individuals from every walk of life would come fully alive in their relationship with God—that people would know His goodness, be awakened to their God-given destiny, and partner with Him to bring heaven to earth. We are a people whose hearts burn for revival and reformation.
We want to always move slowly enough to see the “one”—the forgotten, the broken, and the lost, that we would be moved with compassion and with generosity to meet the needs of those around us practically and with power.
We believe in the power of prayer and our need for it. We protect family and build legacy. We preach the uncompromising Gospel of Jesus Christ.
It is our great honor to play our part in bringing heaven to earth.
In light of our mandate to be catalysts for global revival that leads to reformation, Bethel recognizes that apostolic cities shape the mindsets of nations. While the enemy would seek to use their influence and giftings to export a message of darkness around the globe, we believe God has a greater plan.
New York City is an apostolic city, designed by God to influence global mindsets and mold cultural values—a city our movement has felt led to cover in prayer and ministry for more than a decade.*
In Acts 16, the great Apostle Paul had a powerful spiritual experience in which he had a vision in the night. A man from Macedonia was standing and appealing to him saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.” (Acts 16:9-10)
Joel and Sarah Power had a very similar experience a few years ago in which they felt called by God to plant a church in New York City. The Bethel Senior Leadership Team, too, has been led by the Spirit to send them out as a Bethel Church plant this year to establish an apostolic center to equip a community of believers for revival—right in the center of this great city!
We believe that this team will have a massive impact on the nations over the next 50 years as we partner together to awaken the world to the love and power of Christ and the superior benefits of the kingdom of God.
Therefore, we are commissioning Joel and Sarah Power, and their team, to this mission and sending them with our hearts and resources to New York. Please join your hearts with ours in this most epic endeavor, and let us shift the course of history toward our King and His beautiful kingdom!
