Today's Gatherings: On Friday, we will celebrate Good Friday at the Redding Civic Auditorium with many of the other churches in town. We used to do this regularly before COVID, so we are really looking forward to uniting with the rest of the Body of Christ of Redding to soak in the permanent reality of God’s self-giving love. Plan on attending at 4:00pm, 6:00pm, or 8:00pm. There is no registration, but we encourage those without younger children attend the late one if possible to make room for the kids early.
Good Friday at the Civic Services: 4:00pm, 6:00pm, 8:00pm
Good Friday is when we reflect on Jesus’ substitutionary sacrificial suffering and death creating a way of restoration for all.
Prayer Focus:
- Behold the Lamb! Consider the way in which God the Son, eternally perfect and without sin, stood in our place and in some manner “became sin” so that we might become “the righteousness of God” (2 Cor. 5:21). We are washed clean of all our sin and no longer enslaved to its power and appetite for destruction. “The darling of heaven crucified—worthy is the lamb!”
- Meditate on the lengths God has gone to in order to uphold His justice and extend mercy to those who had opposed him.
